Future Soccer Player?

About 2 weeks ago I felt what I thought was Harper kicking for the first time. It sort of felt like a muscle twitch or something though, so I wasn't sure! But it continued over the next couple days so I decided it must be her. Now she kicks me allllll the time. Probably every couple hours I feel her kicking, and I can feel her turn over or something (it's a very weird feeling!) every once in a while. I kept trying to tell Forrest whenever I'd feel her kicking, but she tended to just kick once or twice, and by the time he was able to get over there, she'd quit. Well two night ago, Forrest and I were saying a prayer before bedtime and during the prayer I felt her kick. I didn't want to interrupt Forrest, so as soon as he was done I told him she was kicking. Then about a minute later she kicked me about as hard as she ever has! We both jumped! haha :) Then she kicked a few more times, but I'm not sure he could really feel them. It was really a sweet moment!

Here are a few ultrasound pictures from 15 weeks. I get another one next Tuesday (20 weeks) so I should have another one or two to post then :)

(above) Measuring her heartbeat :)

On another note, I've been feeling better lately. Not great all the time, but the nausea seems to be subsiding. I went about 2 weeks without really having any, but I've had a little bout with it this morning. Lately, it seems more like it's that my stomach didn't approve of what I ate as opposed to just being nauseated for no good reason. Hopefully the end is in sight with the halway mark just being a few days away!

Janie and Jack

So, Forrest being Forrest...he's told everyone that he knows about how great the place he bought my engagement ring from is. (P.S. Genesis Diamonds and if you go ask for Cassandra and tell her we sent you! :) They really do give great prices for great value and they're all really friendly and we just love them in there. Ahem...it's called a 'Push Present' Forrest...Ahem...hehe) Anyways, because of how many people he's sent there, they gave us a $100 gift card to Cheesecake Factory. We decided to have a date night last weekend since we've been running all over the country telling family about our baby girl and we know that date nights are going to be few and far between come January. Of course we get there and there's a 30 minute wait so we decide to go walk around the mall to kill time. Well, we ended up in Janie and Jack, this cute little baby/toddler clothing store and I thought I'd have to drag Forrest in and he'd drag me back out in .2 seconds. However, we started looking and then came across the sale rack and then one thing led to another and 7 outfits later, Harper Marie's wardrobe had begun! It was so much fun! It was great too because it was a sale rack, thats Forrests "safe place" so he was just as into looking as I was! Everything on the sale rack was spring of course, which is perfect because it will probably be feeling like spring by the time we really start getting her out a lot. Here's two of the outfits we got - Forrest even found the little white pants.

I can't wait to buy her more!! :)

Surprise, Surprise!!

Forrest and I found out over Memorial Day weekend that we're going to be parents! We told our parents right away, but waited til the end of my first trimester to tell extended family or friends but were at 15 weeks now so just about everyone knows :) It's been a lot of fun to tell people! I think the most shocked of anyone were our parents so that was fun!

I'm due January 30th and we found out this past Wednesday that we are having a girl. A long time ago (like...back in college) Forrest came across the name Harper for a girl. He fell in love with it right away but at 19 I wasn't ready to commit to the names of my children yet! :) However, over the years I've really begun to like it, so unless we do something crazy, we're expecting Harper Marie in just a few months time. I know it's going to go much faster than either of us realize.

I'm not really showing much yet. You can sometimes tell but it really just looks like I've been over-eating more than that I'm pregnant! So it will be nice when you can actually tell that I'm pregnant so I don't have to narrow my shirts to all loose fitting items!

Here is our first picture of little Harper taken at 8 1/2 weeks...she's upside down :)

We went to a place in Franklin that you can have ultrasounds done whenever you want to find out the gender last week. I haven't scanned the pictures from that ultrasound yet but I will post them when I do. I'm actually getting to go back tomorrow just to confirm the sex since I was only 14 1/2 weeks when she did it and she usually waits til 15 weeks, so I might have some more from tomorrow that I can post as well! I did get a DVD of the whole ultrasound but I have no idea how to get that onto a website - I'll have to contact Uncle Craig for that :)

Ok, well I really am going to try to be good about blogging now that we have a baby on the way, but my track record is really bad. I'll give it a shot though!

New Bathroom! And I'm STILL a terrible blogger

Well I'm making some sort of progress right? Last time it 13 months between posts and this time it is only 10! So at this pace I should be making regular posts in at least 5 years :)

The big news around our house is the new bathroom. We're currently in the last stages of redoing our hall ("blue") bathroom. We don't really know how this came about. We were in Memphis and Karen had gotten one of her's redone and we woke up the next morning and we're just talking and Forrest said, "I wonder how much it would cost to redo our blue bathroom?" By some miraculous wonder, I had actually researched prices of this exact project so I told him what I thought . He was impressed and from that moment on...we were going to redo our bathroom! Of course, we've nearly doubled that original budget, but that's just par for the course right? We're also at double the amount of time we originally thought it would take, but again...par for the course :) We're wrapping up week two today and really hoping this will be the last day. If my gut tells me anything though, I think that we'll still have a few odd and end things that have to be done still.

Here is a few picture of the bathroom progress :)
